sub cup semi final 22 /03 /09, sarisbury V hillcrest

sarisbury went into the semi as favourites but it was hillcrest who started the stronger ,playing some good football and stretching sarisbury at every opportunity, george taylor in the sarisbury goal made a couple of good stops and bradley morris made an unbelievable goalline clearance to keep the scores level but continuous hillcrest pressure told in the end when they scored with a tap in at the far post, sarisbury could not get into the game as hillcrest dominated, they created a few half chances to increase their lead but sarisbury equalised when harry osman chased down a long through ball and netted, and right on half time sarisbury were awarded a penalty when aiden sherlock had his shirt pulled ,the penalty was scored by george robinson. half time 2 – 1

changes were made at half time and this had an immediate effect as jack bannister got on the end of a louis griffiths cross to poke home, sarisbury sat back and let hillcrest run the game for a 10 minute spell before some good work by louis woodhouse allowed nick yeomans to score from just inside the area.a jacob scoates through ball was picked up by ryan garner who beat three players before scoring, then jack weaver fired narrowly wide, and right at the end of the game george robinson fired in a free kick from a 30 yards after jack richards had been brought down.full time  6 – 1

many thanks go to the ref and linesmen who were all excellent and a big thankyou goes to all the supporters who turned up to watch a very good game of football, commiserations go to hillcrest who were brilliant, good luck to them for the rest of the season, and lastly well done to all the boys for a very good performance

warsash warriors V sarisbury sparks

todays match was always going to be a battle with all of our local rivalry etc and we had something to prove after our last meeting which ended in a 4 1 defeat,we started the game well and pushed warsash back into their own half without creating any real chances,as the half went on warsash came into the game and began to dominate the midfield, this put us under a lot of pressure but warsash were unable to create any chances until right on half time when the warsash forward blazed over from a good position.half time

the boys came out for the 2nd half and never stopped hassling the warsash players who were in possession of the ball, this made it easier for our defenders who dealt with all the warsash attacks well, sarisbury began to apply some pressure to the warsash goal and finally tested the keeper with some efforts from distance, the game then flowed from end to end with both teams battling well and playing good football then with a couple of minutes left sarisbury burst through and fired narrowly wide, this was the last real action of the match as it ended goalless,a first for sarisbury in 4 years of football

many thanks to ian yeomans for running the line and to the young referee, also i would like to thank everyone for supporting the boys once again

pace cougars V sarisbury sparks, sub cup 1/4 final

we knew we were in for a tough match against pace as they are a very good side who have scored loads of goals this season but we got off to a flying start when harry osman tapped in a louis woodhouse cross after a couple of minutes,we were playing some good football and and soon increased the lead when aiden sherlock rose to meet george robinsons corner and glanced it home, pace came more into the game but our defence held firm, nick yeomans and ryan garner both had good chances to extend the lead but the pace goalkeeper produced some excellent saves and then pace pulled one back just before half time when a corner was only half cleared and the ball was knocked back into the far post for a simple tap in.half time

the second half started well for us when harry osman burst through and finished well to make it 1-3,it soon became four when louis griffiths knocked the ball on for harry osman to chase,he managed to knock the ball against the keeper and the ball fell kindly for bradley morris to steer home from just inside the box, pace soon pulled one back when their striker picked up the ball and smashed it over callum holme in the sarisbury goal, jacob scoates then played a good ball out to jack richards who played a quick one , two with george taylor and crossed to the far post for harry osman to complete his hat trick, the final goal of the match came when jack weaver played a good ball to jack bannister who saw the keeper off his line and lobbed him from just outside the box  final score   2 – 6

wellow youth V sarisbury sparks

we began the match brightly and were knocking the ball around well, with good movement from all the players.however it did take us a while before we had our first real chance which ryan garner put just wide, more chances came our way but the wellow keeper was having a blinding game, finally our pressure told when louis griffiths linked up well with harry osman and jack bannister, this allowed louis to lob the keeper from just inside the area. we continued to dominate and hit the woodwork twice but the score remained 0-1 at half time,

the second half started well for us when louis woodhouse and aiden sherlock combined well down the left and got a great cross in, this was only half cleared by wellow and nick yeomans fired home from close range.sarisbury were totally dominating the match as wellow struggled to cope with our width and movement,a third soon followed when a fine save from the wellow keeper was followed up by bradley morris who smashed it home from the edge of the area, more chances came our way before we scored a fourth when jack richards hit a cracking shot into the top corner from the edge of the box,we then saw the game out with sarisburys defense of george robinson, jacob scoates, george taylor, callum holme and jack weaver keeping any wellow attacks at bay

final score  0 – 4

littleton V sarisbury 21 / 12 / 08

we started the game with a bare eleven as a couple of parents spent the morning driving round the lovely hampshire countryside looking for the pitch, this didnt affect us as we began brightly with some good link up play between louis woodhouse and jack bannister creating several half chances which were not taken, littleton began to come into the game  and soon took the lead when some slack marking allowed the littleton striker to score from just inside the area, sarisbury replied almost immediately when harry osman pounced on a defensive error to prod home, more chances came for sarisbury before littleton retook the lead when the forward got in behind the defence and slotted home, once again sarisbury got a quick reply when harry osman made the most of some defensive error and smashed it home.half time  2  -  2

the second half began like the first ended with some great end to end football and it wasnt long before sarisbury took the lead when louis griffiths smashed home his 1st goal for the team in 4 years of trying and he was promptly bundled by every member of the team, sarisbury began to dominate the game and went further ahead when bradley morris smashed home the ball after some great play between nick yeomans and ryan garner set him up at the back post, sarisbury then made it 5 when jack richards crossed for bradley morris to volley in from a tight angle at the far post, littleton then fought there way back into it when the forward out paced the defence and steered it into the bottom corner and with a minute to go littleton scored again when a scramble in the box was prodded home .the final minute was a bit nervy but we held out for the win.a superb effort from all the boys

many thanks to the ref who was excellent and  to phil scoates for running the line and a big thankyou to all the supporters for coming to watch
