city central V sarisbury sparks
this match was the rearranged fixture in the sub cup and we began brightly ,playing some good football on a very bad pitch, chances soon came our way but these were not taken .we were awarded a penalty which george robinson scored from to make it 0-1,a fine solo effort from ryan garner soon made it 0-2,nick yeomans got another with a tap in and ryan garner doubled his tally with a fine header from a corner
half time 0-4
the second half was a similar story with sarisbury dominating, harry osman made it 0-5 when he beat the offside trap and fired home, nick yeomans got another with a thunderous shot from the edge of the area, ryan garner then got his hat trick with a fine shot from just inside the area, city central pulled a goal back when a cross was well met by their forward who steered it into the bottom corner, and right on full time aiden sherlock went on a fine run showing great strength to beat three players and tuck it into the bottom corner
full time 1-8
many thanks to the young lad who refereed,he was excellent, also to ian yeomans for running the line and to all the supporters for coming to watch the game.

sarisbury sparks V wellow youth
before the match we held a minutes silence in honour of joyce singleton who sadly passed away this week.the match was always going to be a tight one as all our games against this team have been, and the first quarter was a midfield battle with very few chances, wellow almost scored when a long range effort was tipped round the post brilliantly by george taylor, from the goal kick we took the lead when ryan garner beat the offside trap and coolly finished past the wellow keeper the game continued in the same vein until right on half time when some excellent play by jack richards set up nick yeomans to fire home.
the second half began with sarisbury on top and it was soon 3 when ryan garner beat two players and fired home.ryan quickly completed his hat trick when a fine cross from louis woodhouse picked him out for an easy tap in to make it 4-0,sarisbury really piled the pressure on harry osman made it 5 when his quick reaction headed the ball home after a failed clearance.harry then made it 6-0 when he controlled well in the box spun and finished from a bradley morris cross.this was the final score
sarisbury 6 – 0 wellow
many thanks to john sherlock and ian yeomans for running the line, and to ian morris for refereeing(i was brilliant again),and to all the supporterswho turned out to watch, but mostly i would like to thank all the boys for the tremendous effort they put in.

newchurch colts V sarisbury sparks
this was our first match in the hampshire cup and we were drawn away to newchurch on the isle of wight.the match started in beautiful sunshine and straight away sarisbury began knocking the ball around well and keeping good possession,no real chances were created until the 20th minute when the ball was squared across the area and bradley morris shot narrowly wide from 25 yards, almost immediately newchurch scored with their first attack when an excellent run from their right winger took him past three sarisbury players and he squared for the striker to tap into an empty net, sarisbury seemed a bit shocked by this and newchurch began to dominate the match,it was nearly half time when some neat inter play between harry osman and jack bannister set up nick yeomans to score from 20yards.
the second half started badly when some indecision in the sarisbury defence allowed newchurch to score again, the game was turning into a midfield battle with chances few and far between, after about 20 minutes newchurch extended their lead when everybody left a ball that they thought was going wide and it trickled in off the post, sarisbury pulled one back through nick yeomans with a couple of minutes left to make it an exciting end but newchurch held on for the win
final score newchurch 3 2 sarisbury
many thanks to phil scoates for running the line and to all the supporters who made the journey to the island.lastly i would like to thank newchurch for all the hospitality shown to us all of our boys had a fantastic day, good luck in the next round of the cup

wyvern V sarisbury sparks
our first cup match saw us paired with wyvern so we knew that we would be in for a tough game.wyvern started like a train and soon went into the lead with a well worked goal, within minutes it was 2-0 as wyvern waltzed through our midfield and defence again and finished neatly,it got worse for sarisbury when wyvern increased their lead by even more with a ball over the top that beat everyone except the wyvern striker who calmly finished past the onrushing george taylor in the sarisbury goal.we eventually got a foothold in the game when some excellent play between ryan garner and nick yeomans ended with ryan finishing well, soon after this we allowed another wyvern attack to end up in the back of the net with some sloppy play and right on half time they scored again to make it 5 – 1
the second half began much better for sarisbury as a few nice moves ended with nick yeomans finishing from just outside the area.sarisbury were playing with more passion now (which wasnt difficult) and nick yeomans pulled another one back with a neat finish, wyvern come back into the game and scored again when every sarisbury player stopped for offside and the wyvern player didn’t,sarisbury replied again with a looping shot from ryan garner,we then had numerous chances to score again but we either shot straight at the keeper or hit the post(twice) or narrowly wide.right on full time wyvern scored again with sarisbury pushing everyone forward they broke away and finished the match 7 – 4 winners.
good luck to wyvern in the next round, they were worthy winners.hopefully this match would be a lesson to all our players that anything less than 100% commitment wont get you anywhere, teams at this level will not just let you play football and lay down to be beaten
many thanks to paul griffiths for running the line , we really appreciate it

Sarisbury Sparks V Winchester Youth 21/09/08
This was our first match of the season, and it started very well when we went 1 up in the first couple of minutes with aiden sherlock curling into the bottom corner from 12 yards out.A couple of half chances went to both sides before winchester levelled with a close range shot, both teams were playing some good football and we retook the lead when nick yeomans got in behind the defence and smashed it into the bottom corner, harry osman soon made it 3-1 when he followed in from a shot which the winchester keeper could only parry out but then some slack marking at a free kick allowed winchester to pull 1 back just before half time - 3 – 2
winchester came out flying at the start of the second half and soon equalised to make it 3 3,sarisbury werent winning anything in midfield and this allowed winchester to run the game for a good 15 minutes in which they went into 5 – 3 lead, the fifth goal being an absolute cracker from 25 yards, sarisbury looked out of it but nick yeomans beat two players and rifled home to make it 4-5,some neat play between brad morris and jack bannister set up harry osman to make it 5-5,ryan garner and harry osman had chances to score before nick yeomans got on the end of a jack weaver pass and blasted home to make it 6-5,this was the final score(thank god )
we would like to thank all the dads who helped put up and take down the goals, also thankyou to chris osman for running the line,it was much appreciated
well done boys for a brilliant effort mike , ian , rich
friendly result
hello everyone
here is the report for last nights friendly between sarisbury and hedge end,the two teams had met a couple of times before but this was the first time at 11 aside, both sides started well with some nice crisp passing and we soon carved out the first chance which was well saved by the hedge end keeper, sarisbury took the lead when some good work allowed harry osman to finish at the near post, within a couple of minutes it was 2 when ryan garner finished well, hedge end came back into it and created a couple of chances which were dealt with by the sarisbury keeper george taylor, nick yeomans then made it 3-0 with a good shot from just inside the area, jack bannister got a fourth just before half time with a tap in after the hedge end keeper had made another great save from a fierce shot.the second continued in the same way with chances for both sides but only 1 more was added to the score when george taylor popped up in the box and steered the ball into the bottom corner.
final score sarisbury 5 – 0 hedge end
